8.1 Re-ingest

On the Living Manual screen, each knowledge base row has a Re-ingest action. Re-ingest rebuilds the manual’s sections, and with Pro rebuilds the knowledge graph, from the source document. Two things are worth knowing before you click it. The manual is offline while it rebuilds. The front end serves a knowledge base only when its status is ready, so during a re-ingest the manual’s URL does not resolve. With Pro’s AI pipeline on a large document this can be several minutes. Schedule it accordingly. With Pro, re-ingest costs money. It is a full AI pass over the document against your Anthropic key. Re- ingesting because a paragraph changed is expensive; batching a quarter’s worth of edits into one re- ingest is not.
