2.2 Installing the free core

Install and activate the Living Manual plugin the way you install any WordPress plugin. Then do one thing that is easy to forget: go to Settings > Permalinks and click Save Changes. You do not need to change anything on that screen. The click flushes WordPress’s rewrite rules, which is what makes /manual/ URLs resolve. Until you do it, your manual pages return 404.
