3.3 Getting a good result

The quality of the manual follows the quality of the PDF’s structure. A PDF exported from a word processor with real heading styles produces a clean section tree. A PDF that is a scan of a printed page has no extractable text at all and produces nothing; run it through OCR first. Cover pages, blank pages, and dividers are normal and expected. Living Manual treats an empty page as an empty page, not as a failure.
